The Rabbit Hutch, HofBrau, Oriental Gardens

by Debbie Ryan
(Anchorage)

We mostly lived on the south side of Anchorage, and ate many times at the Rabbit Hutch.

Carlos (of the closed Carol Mexican Restaurant) made the best horseradish and prime rib.

The great HofBrau was a wonderful German buffet, and they had delish Baron of Beef, au jus and all the fixings.

And the legendary Oriental Gardens and their private rooms, where we celebrated many family birthdays and anniversaries.

I also want to do a shout-out to my beloved La Mex. It is one restaurant I will miss till the day I die. Can’t even count all the fun times our family had there.
